SoulMotel are a collection of Sydney’s finest professional musicians, all professionally trained with well rounded experience touring and performing with the likes of, Jersey Boys, David Campbell, The DreamGirls, Mahogany, with a list of performances in musical theatre, ocean cruises and various festivals throughout Australia and Asia.

Ed Feist – Singer/Front Man

Born in Melbourne, Ed’s international background has led him around the world and back again. Ed’s passion has always been in music and it is here that he has risen to considerable fame and success. Ed’s credits include TV presenter on MYX, the leading music television channel in the Philippines. His celebrity interviews include The Spice Girls, Mariah Carey, 98 Degrees as well as numerous International DJs.
As a singer/songwriter Ed’s charismatic style and creative flair have taken him from musical theatre in LA to a chart topping recording artist in Asia.
Ed has been entertaining audiences as the lead front man of SoulMotel for the last 4 years.

Wendy – Keyboards / Music Director

Born in Bandung, Indonesia. In 1999, Wendy came to Sydney to study jazz piano at The Australian Institute of Music (AIM) and graduated with Honours in 2003.
Wendy has proven to be one of the most sought after musician in Sydney and now in Asia. Throughout her career, she has worked with the foremost musicians from many countries: Australia, Brazil, Africa, China and Malaysia.
Fresh from a tour with David Campbell (Broadway and Beyond Tour 2010), Wendy has also been involved in Sydney Opera House Baby Proms program, performing with Ghanaian artist Afro Moses. She also played for up and coming Sony artist Lovers Electric on Channel 7 Australia. In 2008, Wendy also played at Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta. She has performed in Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian drummer extraordinaire Lewis Pragasam with his band Bali Lounge. In China, she has performed as a duet with Didi Mudigdo in Shenzhen.
In Australia, some of the more notable venues Wendy has performed in are The Basement, The Vanguard, Soup Plus, Kiama Jazz Festival, Darling Harbour Fiesta Festival, and Musica Viva’s Cafe Carnivale.
In the musical theatre scene, Wendy currently is one of the deputy musician for Sydney’s production of Jersey Boys. She’s also been involved with TOMMY, Promises, Promises, and Dusty. They all are productions run by The Australian Institute of Music. On top of that she is currently lecturer and accompanist at The Australian Institute of Music.

Ian Tallis – Bass

Bassist Iain Tallis was raised on a balanced diet of eclectic musical genres. Beginning his musical life as a classical trumpet player, he soon ate his way through rock drums before finding his calling as a bassist in the late 90’s. After studying jazz at the Canberra School of Music under the tuition of US bassist Eric Ajaye (Taj Mahal, Barry White, Freddie Hubbard), Iain cut his teeth as a show band musician in the Caribbean for Carnival Cruise Lines.
Soulful, versatile and absorbed in groove, Iain is as happy playing James Brown on electric bass as he is playing Louis Armstrong tunes on the upright. He is currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and has found his home occupying the bottom end of Soul Motel.

Mig-Z – Guitars

Mig-Z is a passionate and versatile guitarist who has worked alongside many of Sydney’s
finest musicians and artists. With an extensive background in rock, progressive and fusion
genres he continually seeks new challenges and musical ventures. Having many years of
experience in the music industry as a freelance guitarist in both live and studio settings, he
feels especially at home playing urban styles of RnB, soul, blues, gospel, funk, reggae and
Latin music.
He has also worked as a guitar tutor/lecturer, songwriter and composer performing at
several music festivals and notable local venues such as The Basement, The Vanguard and
The Sydney Opera house to name a few. As a solo artist he has had some of his original
instrumental performances featured and aired on local music television networks.
Mig-Z was also heavily involved as the music director and band leader for soul/R&B vocal
group Mahogany, touring in NSW for the Dreamgirls shows.
Not one to conform to clichés or trends, his open-minded and inventive nature gives Mig-Z
a unique expressive voice on the guitar.

Graham Hunt – Drums/Percussion

With varying influences from Buddy Rich, Art Blakey, Max Roach all the way to Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl and Quest Love, Graham’s versatility extends across many genres including Big Band, Jazz, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Blues, Soul, Groove and Musical Theatre.
Graham was self-taught on the drums up until he was accepted to study Jazz Drums with Andrew Dickeson at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He completed a Bachelor of Music (Perfomance) – Jazz Studies with the help of teachers such as Craig Scott, William (Bill) Moltzing, Kevin Hunt, Matt McMahon, Warrick Alder, Dave Theak, Mike Nock, Judy Bailey, Dale Barlow, Darryl Pratt plus many more.
